Bunkhouse Retreat, Black River Falls WI - Jan 06 Reservation Process - 2 -We have had a couple of problems trying to get confirmations for our rooms, but in the end it all worked out great. Facilities/Amenities - 1 -The Bunkhouse has its own atv area for running around and the facilities are all tiled floors. If you are looking for a kid area, keep looking, this is what I would could an "Adult Park". Location - 1 -The trails are easily accessible right out the back part of the campgrounds. Cost - 2 - I would consider the rates a little high, but during the off season the rates are much better and the area is not so crowded. |
Rock Dam State Park, WI - May 06
Reservation Process - 2.5 - Being that there was 4
reservations needed, and normally they only accommodate 2
reservations at a time, we had a heck of a time with
reservations. Also, you have to send in the full amount up
front, and NO refunds. Not a big fan of that
Facilities/Amenities - 2 - Our sites were located way at the far end of the campgrounds, and was close to the outhouse. We were located pretty far from the playground, but at least they had one for the kids to hang out on. Also, the water and electric hookups were setup on the opposite sides of our campground, making it pretty difficult to run our power and water lines. Otherwise, the sites were decent sized. Location - 1 - The trails were located right out the back entrance from where we were camped. Cost - 1 - The cost was good. |

Spider Lake OHV Park, MN - Memorial Day 06 Reservation Process - 3 - There are no reservations; first come, first served. Facilities/Amenities - 1.5 - The sites are great, if you don't mind no water or electric hookups. There was enough room on our site for at least 3 trailers. There is a lake and outhouses available throughout the park. Location - 1 - This year we had a great site where we could all hang out and we were within 2 minutes walking distance from the lake. Cost - 1 - FREE. What better price than that! |
Parkland Village Campground, Black River Falls, WI - Father's Day 06 Reservation Process - 1 - Pretty good experience. No real problems. Facilities/Amenities - 1 - Our camp was located near the pool, the playground and the showers and being that it was hot out, the pool was great. Location - 1 - The site was great. It was nice that we could be located with the others in our group. The campgrounds also have easy access to the trails, the gas station and the hotel w/lounge. Cost - 1.5 - It was not to bad with just the water and electric hookup and for the 5 dollars a night more it would have cost us to have sewer, we ended up dumping at the gas station for $1.00. |

Loon Lagoon Campground, Mercer WI - Aug 06 Reservation Process - 1 - No real problems Facilities/Amenities - 1.5 - Pretty much a basic campsite, but it did have full hookup, which was a very nice thing to have. Location - 1 - The location was good. We had direct access to the trails, unfortunetly we picked a very wet weekend to go and we were up for being drowned rats. Cost - 1 - I thought the cost was good. We had to pay extra from was was advertised on their website for the "extra" people, but it was still more reasonable that some other places we have been. |
